Cafe Society's 1 year Anniversary.

It has been a memorable debut year for Cafe Society. We are thankful for your support and the very talented people we've had the honor to host: The Beat Broker - SF, Eleven:Eleven - Houston, Barry Weaver - LA, Dougal - F.A.M.I.L.Y. - LA, Cole Medina -Licorice Delight LA, Kerri Simester - LA, Hawkeye - Headinghome - LA, Adam Warped - Whiskey Pickle - Austin, Matt Schugar- Infusion Project - SD, Chris Bowen - Bears in Space - LA, Rick Wren,Tony Watson - American Standard LA, Arnold Lara - Controlled Substance - LA, Liz LaRou - Motherlode - LA, including residents, Shane Baker and Lucky Alvarez. We set out to do something fresh and distinguished. Through determination, persistence, and honest work we have accomplished that goal. So it is with that momentum that we start our 2nd year with the amazing talent of Pompeya from Russia:

~POMPEYA~ dj set (No Shame Records, Tigers on A Leash, Exit Festival, Moscow)

Pompeya broke onto the U.S. scene, being picked up by New York's No Shame Records. Pompeya released "Power Remixes 12"" through Tigers On A Leash, with remixes by Lou Teti, Mario Basanov, and Zimmer. A full length through No Shame is expected this summer. The group has made appearances at Glasslands, Mercury Lounge, and The Box in the U.S, as well as Paris Fashion Week, Exit Festival, and Stereolux Festival.

~Dirty Dave~ (Talk Dirty Disco, Los Angeles)

Turned on to underground dance music as a teenager in Baltimore & DC's thriving 90's party scene, Dave's decision to get into deejaying was immediate. A move to Arizona shortly thereafter to attend college sparked his playing his first party in the basement of what was once a downtown department store. From there he played numerous desert & warehouse parties, held residencies at many nightclubs around the state, and worked in multiple record stores. Having now made Los Angeles his home, Dave's played all over the last few years & is a resident DJ at The Standard downtown as well as Wildlife, a weekly at The Short Stop in Echo Park. Last year marked his first foray into music production with "Drowning Doubts" as well as a remix of A Girl I Know's "Bang Bang Bang". Expect to hear & see a lot more from Dave in the months to come!

~Shane Baker~ (SB2, Disco Vigilantes, Cafe Society, SD) Shane Baker is no stranger to dance floor and continues his efforts to contribute to the industry around him. Growing up in the underground club scene of San Diego and Los Angeles, Shane was able to set the foundation that leads him where he is today. First as a club personality and host, then a DJ, and more recently he has begun to build a unique catalogue of published releases. His music is carefully written not produced to follow any trends or trying to fit into whats the current flavor of the moment. His productions has lead him placement on compilations for Trip in Summer - Italian house, WMC, Ibiza, ADE, and charted compilations for a personal hero, Italy's - Alexander Robotnick. This year, Shane is set to release multiple e.ps and is currently working on remixes under his Disco Vigilantes moniker.
